1. Orphan Grant
As per the scheme, a monthly financial assistance of Rs.3,000/- is provided to the orphaned children of ex-servicemen, up to 25 years for boys and up to 30 years for girls, subject to terms and conditions. Annual income limit should not exceed Rs.500,000/-.
2. Lump sum Grant for Children
A grant of Rs.10,000/- is given to children of ex-servicemen studying in Std X in Sainik school regardless of any other conditions.
3. Medical assistance to World War II veterans
An amount of Rs. 3,000/ is provided as one time medical assistance to the World War II veterans. Annual income limit should not exceed Rs. 200,000/-
4. Financial assistance to ex-servicemen/ widows staying in nursing homes
An amount of Rs. 2,000/- as monthly financial assistance is given to ex-servicemen/ widows living in approved old age homes within the state and having no other source of income.
5. Awareness programs at district levels
A number of seminars/ awareness camps are organized annually at the district level to create awareness among ex-servicemen and widows on various welfare and self-employment schemes implemented by the Central/ State Government and Department of Sainik Welfare. Regarding the programmes, notifications are circulated through media.
6. Rehabilitation Training
A maximum of Rs. 30,000/- per person is provided for institutions providing rehabilitation training to ex-servicemen and their dependents, subject to conditions. Vocational training programmes are also provided to get employment in various fields.
7. Subsidy for Self-employment Loan
Top-up up to Rs.100,000/- is given as subsidy for self-employment loan for ex-service men, subject to terms and conditions.
8. Formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs) to start Self Employment
For self-employment ventures an amount of Rs. 25,000/- is provided to self-employment support groups of ex-servicemen and their dependents.
